It can be baited using peanut butter. The mouse enters the compartment to take the peanut butter and then steps on the metal floor creating a closed circuit and is shocked and killed instantly. A red light on top of the trap then blinks showing that a mouse has been killed and that it needs to be emptied. In order to empty, just pour out the lifeless mouse into a trash bag or garbage can. You don't have to touch or mess with the dead mouse. Put the trap back in its spot to kill more mice.
